Gold Mountain Fire

Despite what some news reports are implying, there *is* a detour around the Highway 550 closure. It's only about a five-minute detour, and access to Ouray remains available.


The fire is moving east, and the City of Ouray itself is not under evacuation. We gave tours today, and every day since may!


Come experience the quiet ghost town of Ouray it's unusually peaceful because so many visitors left, and the fire has moved away from town.
